Thriving in School: Strategies for academic success

On Saturday 29th of September, 2024, we had a “Mentorship Session” for our scholars who had the opportunity to learn from “Solape Olaniyan”. on the topic Thriving in school: Strategies for academic success.

Solape Olaniyan is an Associate Director at Standard Chartered Bank with extensive experience in corporate and investment banking. She graduated with a First Class Honors in Economics from the University of Lagos. She is also a member of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Financial Analyst Institute (“CFA”), where she obtained several recognitions and awards.

Passionate about mentoring young professionals and promoting financial literacy, Solape actively empowers young women through her mentorship work with Dream Girls Global. She also supports young people in undeserved communities through her work with Standard Chartered’s Future Makers programme

Solape’s blend of expertise and commitment to uplifting others makes her an inspiring role model and advocate for positive change.

She groomed the students on the importance of Networking, Mentorship, working on their Social engagement skills and the art of leveraging social media.

Using her story as a case study, she also shared few insights on strategies to graduate with a First Class and the importance of having a SMART elevator pitch when engaging authorities in their respective field of study and chosen career part.
